Doodle Weave Wall Hanging
Come have a fun night out with your crafty friends and learn to doodle weave while making a small wall hanging. We will use yarn remnants and fiber remnants as weft to weave on a 6 x 7 1/2" cardboard loom. You will learn how to warp, twine, weave tabby, weave soumak weave Rya knots, and other decorative ways to place roving into your piece. And of course we will cover finishing techniques. These little masterpieces work up relatively quick and would make great gifts for our friends and family.
The teacher will provide: looms, warping thread, some yarn remnants, and some fiber remnants, and will have needles to loan.
Students should bring (if you have some or want specific colors) remnants of yarn at least worsted weight or above (1 ply, 2-3 ply, boucle, ribbon, thick/thin), remnants of fiber (roving, top, locks), scissors, and at least two large eyed tapestry needles that thick yarn can fit through.
