Sock Summer Camp

PLEASE NOTE: WHEN YOU ADD IT TO YOUR CART IT WILL SHOW JUST THE FIRST DATE, BUT YOU WILL INDEED MEET FOR ALL FOUR DATES Saturday July 6th, 20th Aug 3rd and 24th

You may not have plans to camp this summer, but with this get together you can get a little dose of summer camp!!
Here are the details...your camping fee includes:

- One locally made bag with vintage flannel bottom and waxed canvas top by PNWBUSHCRAFT, perfect for knitting in any weather!!
- 100g sock weight yarn (you don't have to use this yarn to make socks, you can just look at it!)
- Locking Stitch Marker
- Three Printed Patterns
- 8 Hours of "camp" (every other week for 4 sessions, you can come to as many or as few of the sessions as you would like, there are no make-up sessions or credits for missed sessions!)

All for $139

Each bag is different as it's made of vintage flannel and there are 3 colorways of yarn. We understand there is no way to suit every taste, but we will spin the prize wheel the first day of camp and you will get to pick your camping bag and yarn!

Although I'm leaning heavily into the theme, we won't ACTUALLY be camping...but it will be a lot of fun!!!

What to expect:
We will kick of the first day of camp with getting to know each other and casting on our first cuff down sock.
Over the next 2 weeks you will knit as much of that sock as you can! If you are an experienced sock knitter you can throw in some patterning if that floats your boat.
At the next session we will chat about how the cuff down sock went and cast on the toe-up sock.
Over the next 2 weeks you will knit as much as you can on any socks you need to!
At the 3rd session we will chat about the toe-up sock and cast on the shortie sock.
Over the next 2 weeks you will knit as much as you can on any socks you need to!
At the final session we will chat about all the socks, answer any questions you may have and enjoy some camp treats as we say goodbye to sock summer camp!

FAQ:
Q: Will this be a class that teaches me everything I need to know about socks?
A: This gathering is intended to be a more social/accountability event, but you can ask any question you want to as we work through the socks. It is not like a traditional class where we all stay together at the same part of the sock...everyone will go at THEIR pace.

Q: What if I have a problem that needs to be worked out between sessions?
A: We highly recommend writing down questions and bringing them ALL to the sessions. If you are stuck somewhere on the sock, place it on waste yarn and cast on the other sock, or try another project. Then bring it all to the next session and we will work it out!

Q: Can I do this if I have never knit a sock?
A: This kinda depends. Some people prefer a more in-depth class for their first sock with many handouts

Q: What supplies do I need to bring??
A: You will need fingering weight yarn (bring from stash or purchase in shop) and US1.5 knitting needles for knitting socks. This can be double pointed needles, long circular for magic loop or two circular needles OR 9" circular. If you are a tight knitter feel free to go up a needle size or if you are a loose knitter go down a needle size. If you aren't sure, use the US1.5!
