Crochet Stocking

Create a modern crochet stocking for your holiday celebrations! In this class you will learn how to work in the round, create a stocking heel, and the crunch stitch. This class is great for folks who would like to make a keepsake for a family member or friend, or get a head start on their holiday decorations.

What Participants Should Already Know

• How to make the following stitches: CH, HDC, SL ST.

• How to change colors.

• How to weave in yarn ends.

What Participants Will Learn

• How to make the following stitches: Crunch Stitch

• How to crochet a stocking working from the toe-up using a magic circle OR CH-2 start

• How to work a pattern both in the round and back and forth in rows.

• How to create and shape a heel for a crochet stocking. 

Provided Materials 

• Printed copy of the pattern

• Extra stitch markers 

Required Materials

• 100g of worsted weight yarn for your Main Color, 

• 100g of worsted weight yarn for your Contrast Color

• US Size I/9: 5.50 mm
  or, if you tend to crochet tightly, a US Size J/10: 5.75 or 6.00 mm crochet hook 

• Tapestry Needle

• Scissors

• Stitch Markers
