Learn the basics of sock knitting.  We’ll use worsted weight yarn to create top-down socks that let you learn sock construction with a (relatively!) quick knit.  The class is 2 sessions to allow time to knit at least 1 sock.   If you know how to cast on, knit, purl, and do standard decreases, you are ready for socks.

Supplies needed:

1 skein Deluxe Stripes yarn (or equivalent)

Size US4 for a looser knitter US5 for a tighter knitter knitting needles – double points (set of 5), 2 circulars, or 1 long circular for preferred method of knitting small circumferences in the round – OR SIZE TO GET GAUGE

Homework:  Check your gauge in stockinette stitch.  You want 6 sts/inch.
