Lace Knitting, Chart Reading & Lifelines, OH MY!



Are you ready to try your hand at lace knitting or just want to fine-tune your lace knitting skills? Then enroll in this class. We will be knitting the beautiful Leaving Lace Cowl that has a leafy lace pattern. We will cover basic lace stitches and symbols, knitting in the round, reading a lace chart and written directions, placing lifelines, and finishing techniques.

Materials Provided:
Lifeline Yarn and Pattern. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/leaving-cowl

Materials Needed: 50g sport or DK weight yarn (sample is done with one skein of Malabrigo Arroyo), size US6-16” circular needles, stitch marker & tapestry needle.

Experience Needed: Must be able to knit and purl.

Homework Required:
Prior to class, cast on 128 stitches and join in the round. Knit 10 rounds of seed stitch (Round 1: (K1, P1) repeat parenthesis until the end. Round 2: (P1, K1) repeat parenthesis until the end. Repeat Rounds 1 & 2 four more times for a total of 10 rounds.
