Wool Gathering – Caring For Your Wool -  FREE – 3 Hours – Instructor Allison Harding

Saturday, May  25th 10am to 1pm

Bring your favorite fiber project and gather with us to learn about caring for your wool. We’ll meet to share and work on our projects with other fiber crafty people from 10am to 11am. At 11, Allison Harding of Fleebers Farm will lead an educational discussion about caring for your precious wool creations as we head into the warmer weather season. Each month will cover a fiber related topic, what do you want to know more about? We would love to know! This event is free to attend!

What is woolgathering?

Woolgathering once literally referred to walking the fields and hedgerows picking tufts of wool naturally shed by sheep. Woolgathers seemed to be wandering aimlessly and naturally it was a good time to let your thoughts wander too. In mid-16th century, "woolgathering" began to appear as a phrase like "my wits went a-woolgathering". It wasn't long before woolgathering came to mean the act of daydreaming.
